The Cowtown Announces The 2017 Cowtown C.A.L.F. Run presented by Texas Capital Bank C.A.L.F. Run and Sixth Annual FitWorth Culinary Competition

FORT WORTH, TX–The Cowtown Marathon’s Sixth Annual C.A.L.F. Run will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth. The event, presented by Texas Capital Bank for all ages and skills, comprises a 1-Mile distance starting at 7:05 a.m., a 15K distance starting at 7:00 a.m. and a 5K distance starting at 7:15 a.m.

The run benefits The Cowtown C.A.L.F. program (Children’s Activities for Life and Fitness), the official charity of The Cowtown Marathon. Serving some 18,000 children annually in the Fort Worth area, C.A.L.F. provides running training to children across the community, plus race entry fee grants and new running shoes to children in need. The Cowtown C.A.L.F. Run presented by Texas Capital Bank is the fall warmup to The Cowtown’s annual Kids 5K race scheduled for February 24, 2018, as well as a great training run for the other running distances of February’s annual Cowtown weekend of races.

In addition to the three races, C.A.L.F. will once again partner with the FitWorth Healthy City Initiative on its Sixth Annual FitWorth Fuel Challenge held during the race for area high school culinary students.  These 74 students in the culinary competition represent culinary programs from 7 schools and 4 area school districts.

Cowtown will provide a healthy breakfast after the race, as well as other family-friendly activities to give everyone a great event experience. In addition, participants will be able to watch the FitWorth Fuel Challenge and taste some of the foods the culinary students are preparing.
