Gear Up for Mayor Price’s Tour de Fort Worth with FitWorth

On July 5th, Mayor Betsy Price and FitWorth will kick off the 2015 Tour de Fort Worth 21-day cycling event, with a nineteen-mile bike ride and after party at Joe T. Garcia’s. Mayor Price started Tour de Fort Worth as an opportunity to tour the city on a bicycle seat, and this year will be the first for FitWorth to take on the event as a permanent activity of the organization’s Work program. This kick off ride will be the launch event for an exciting new partnership between FitWorth and Lexus, which will be the Presenting Sponsor of the Work program, powering Tour de Fort Worth, Fit15 activities at local businesses, and the annual FitWorth Corporate Challenge.

In line with the mission of FitWorth, every organized ride will be accessible to cyclists of all levels and the program will include walkable routes, to engage walkers and runners as well. On free days, participants can ride on their own or join a group at a designated meet-up point for trail rides. Two of the organized rides will feature family-friendly routes, including stops at the Museum of Science and History, Curly’s, and a movie night at Bicycles Inc. Prizes will be awarded to participants with the most miles ridden or run, social media ambassadors, and more.

In addition to the Presenting Sponsorship by Lexus, Tour de Fort Worth is supported by partnerships with and support from Bicycles Inc., Joe T. Garcia’s, The Trailhead at Clearfork, Central Market, Fort Worth Bike Sharing, TechLine Rep Group, MedStar, the Fort Worth Police Department, Streams & Valleys, and Trinity River Vision Authority. Individuals can register and access details about participation and all ride locations at www.fitworth.org/events.
