Noah Drew named Director, FitWorth Healthy City Initiative

FitWorth Healthy City Initiative has named Noah Drew of Fort Worth its Director effective November 28, 2016.

Drew has served for the past eight years with the Fort Worth Independent School District as a physical education teacher, curriculum specialist and most recently as a project director for a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As director, Drew will ensure consistent achievement of FitWorth’s mission and financial objectives. He will report to the Board of Directors for Foundation for Wellness, Texas, and Mayor Betsy Price. His responsibilities include marketing and communications, program and event management, mission strategy development, as well as volunteer and donor relations.

“We are delighted to have Noah join the FitWorth staff to continue the great work it has accomplished in this city,” said Larry Tubb, chair of Foundation for Wellness, Texas. “He will play a key role in sustaining and growing this vital health initiative for our community.”

Drew holds a BS in Kinesiology from Texas Christian University and a JD from the Texas Wesleyan School of Law. In the community, he has served as a member of the Advisory Board of Foundation for Wellness, Texas; Education Committee Chair, North Texas Alliance to Prevent Teen Pregnancy; Chair for Professional Learning, Texas Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance; a leader in the North Texas Alliance to Reduce Teen Pregnancy; the Stonewall National Education Project, and a member of the Health and Human Services grantee conference planning committee.

FitWorth is a family-focused initiative of Mayor Betsy Price and the Fort Worth City Council launched in September 2012 to address the growing trend of childhood obesity in the city. In 2014, FitWorth became an independent program of Foundation for Wellness, Texas, tasked with promoting health and active lifestyles through an individualized and sustainable approach to community wellness.
